A most beautiful bike ride among the vines

June 4th

This is typically our first bike ride in Burgundy probably because it is so breathtaking!  The ride is up and down through the vineyards for about 50km but with my little engine it's not a problem for me.  Jay however burned about 1800 calories...maybe I should ditch my motor...nah!  When we are here in Septemberber they are harvesting but this time of year there are many workers in the fields thinning and plowing the rows. The Route de Grand Cru Bourgogne takes you through the villages of Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassange-Montrachet before reaching Santenay.  The Tour de France will be riding through both Montrachet and Chassange-Montrachet this year while we are here. We hope to catch a glimpse!
