A break from the bikes
June 7th
We took a break from riding for a few days because my derriere was in need of a rest.
I forgot to mention that as we arrived back to our car yesterday we had a parking ticket. Apparently we were not parked in a free zone for the train station...oops! We have spent a good portion of the day trying to figure out how to pay the fine and who is supposed to be paid. Jay went to a regional government office who said they couldn't take his money so he went to the information center and they told him to go to the police station. We met at the gate to the station and were able to follow a man who got buzzed in just as we arrived. There is a gate and two doors to get inside but found they didn't want our money either. They suggested going back to the Dole police station to pay the fine. We will make an attempt on Monday as we pass through Dole on our way to visit our friend Daniel in the Jura. As we tried to leave the building we made it through the first two doors but were stuck at the gate. After searching around I went back to the window and pushed the intercom to mention that the gate was locked. The policeman then pushed a button somewhere inside and said, "go, go, go!" Off we ran down the steps to open the gate and escape our entrapment. Stay tuned...I'm sure the best is yet to come?
We walked around town a bit and just had a relaxing afternoon before dinner at Le Bacchus which is a little restaurant run by a lovely woman and her husband. We both had the Oeufs en meurette made with a Chardonnay sauce as a starter. Always a pleasant meal.
