A New Home

September 15th

We bid farewell to Beaune this morning and made our way across France to the Loire Valley.  We spent 2 weeks in Tours several years ago and loved the old town section and the biking so decided to spend a week here before returning to Paris.  I found an apartment near the river, bike trail and restaurants and only a block away from where we stayed last time.  The building is most likely 12th century according to the manager.  There a a few aspects that remind you of it's age like the exposed beams and stone wall in the bathroom however the rest is very modern and up to date. The wifi is lightening fast which makes it very easy when uploaded photos to this blog.






















Since we didn't have a reservation for dinner I tried to find a restaurant that I could reserve online. The restaurant Le Turon was just around the corner so when we walked by and saw that the light was on we were able to check on our reservation. The food was excellent! We both had the maigre (white fish) plat and shared the pate en croute with foie gras and the chocolate caramel dessert. The ambiance was charming and the service great from the amuse bouche all the way through. An excellent find!
