Fontainebleau 

August 17th

Our drive to Fontainebleau took longer than expected and we ran into a glitch at the Aire gas station off the toll road.  For some reason the Shell pump wouldn't take our credit card so off we went to the next Aire.  On the toll roads in France there are rest stops called Aires.  Some just have picnic tables but many have gas stations and restaurants.  The second stop was a different petrol brand and were happy to take our money.

After our 4+ hour drive we found our hotel, the Hotel Londres Fontainebleau. I knew it was close to the Chateau but we were right across the street with a view of the Chateau and its famous entrance with the Horseshoe Steps.  Score one for Karla and Booking.com!
