Sweet Adeline 💕
August 30th
Today was a day I had been looking forward to for a while...a cooking class at Terroirs by Adeline in Burgundy. I arrived a few minutes before the others so was able to get to know Adeline's assistant Carlene, who is from New Zealand. Soon the other students arrived and they were a family of four...parents and two adult children from Aberdeen, Scotland. The "kids" live in London now but vacation every year with the folks. We had a delightful time bantering back and forth and learning to cook the most amazing dishes that I will certainly replicate! As we started cooking we were given a glass of very good white burgundy wine and we were off! To start we separated into 2 groups...guys against the girls. First up for the girls was gazpacho and the fluffy gougeres while the guys did the dessert. We all were able to see each others progress so we have some idea of the process. The main course was trout seared in a sage butter with sautéed radishes and eggplant. The pictures below tell the story. I can't wait to return!

Jay spent the day on a bike ride out in the vineyards and watched some of the workers harvesting the grapes.
I'd say it was a grape day!
