Visiting Jim Morrison and Friends

August 2nd

Today we took our first bus ride out to Pere Lachaise Cemetery where Jim Morrison is buried along with many other famous people including Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein, Sarah Bernhardt, Balzac, Proust and many more.  The cemetery is massive and we decided to do a VoiceMap tour of one section since it was a fairly warm day.  It was fun following the directions of our guide in order to find the graves he described.  Finding Jim Morrison took a bit of orienteering between headstones, down stairs and along cobbled paths but in the end we were successful!  I would highly recommend doing a VoiceMap tour here and maybe even two or three if time allows and you're physically up to the ups and downs of this incredible place.
