Stage 6...Tour de France
July 4th
We had lunch in the apartment before heading out to ride the Voie de Vigne down to Meursault to watch the stage going through the town. We had scouted it out a few days before so knew where they would be turning the corner. Before the racers come through there is always the parade of vehicles. Some are team floats and others are commercial sponsors from eyeglasses to chicken...quite a variety. As the parade goes through they throw out prizes which I lunged for at every opportunity. No one is going to take out a 73 year old lady to grab a hat...or would they? It was a fun day chatting with the other spectators waiting for the 30 seconds when the riders actually appear. J'adore la Tour!
